Area around Khachinchay reservoir cleared of mines

The relevant structures have been instructed to clear the area around the Khachinchay reservoir in the Aghdam region and the right and left banks of the concrete irrigation canal separated from the reservoir, Senior lieutenant Suleyman Heydarov, head of the demining group of the Special Risk Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has said.

Report's Karabakh bureau quotes him as saying that the members of the demining group have attended a relevant course in the Turkish Armed Forces and have been provided with international certificates.

"The groups are conducting the anti-mine action using personal search tools. The operation also revealed unexploded ordnance as dangerous as a mine, and relevant measures were taken. The working groups also found bomblets fired from aircraft. They resemble a tennis ball. We ask people to call the 112 hotline of the Ministry of Emergency Situations without touching them if they see such ammunition."
