ANAMA: Armenians laid small mines inside water pipes

"During the mine clearance, we also come across unusual types of mines that attract attention. Sudden contact can be fatal," Ehtiram Jafarov, operational manager of the clearance group No. 2 of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), told Report's correspondent dispatched to Aghdam.

According to him, the cleaning operations, which began in January 2021, are carried out mainly in the direction of the Aghdam and Fuzuli districts, villages, and settlements, as well as outside the drinking water basins: "The enemy used prohibited methods, violated the norms of international humanitarian law, and showed its abominable nature during the mining of territories. They placed small and interesting-looking mines around and inside the water pipes. We ask citizens not to touch such things while being in the area. Sudden contact can be fatal. Despite all this, the demining process in the regions continues at full capacity."
