Baku. 27 October. REPORT.AZ/ Japan, which ranked first in the ranking last year, gave way to Spain, where, according to experts, life expectancy by 2040 will be maximum, Report informs citing the RIA Novosti.
According to the forecast outlined in the report of the Institute for Health Evaluation and Assessment (IHME), by 2040 the average life expectancy in Spain will reach 85.8 years.
Researchers call the Spanish Mediterranean diet a possible cause of longevity, whereby people eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, fish, and less meat and eggs.
Japan ranked second with 85.7 years in the ranking. Singapore is in third place followed by Switzerland. Italy ranked fifth. Next - Israel, France, Luxembourg and Australia.
