A nine-year-old girl in northern China who miraculously survived a fall from her 25th-floor home has become a trending topic on mainland social media, Report informs via the South China Morning Post.

The incident occurred in Tangshan, Hebei province, on March 27, when she was alone in her room, according to the Beijing News.

Feeling hot, the girl, whose name has not been disclosed, decided to open the window. Unfortunately, the window’s structure was loose, causing her to fall and land on a platform 18 floors below, as she did not grab anything to support herself, according to her mother, who is surnamed Shen.

Shen was at work when the accident happened and received a call from her husband, who said their daughter was missing.

“My daughter was supposed to be doing homework in her room. But when her father went to call her for dinner, he could not find her,” Shen explained.

“He looked out the window three times but did not see anyone on the ground, except for a pair of slippers,” she added.

The family learned of their daughter’s whereabouts when the property management manager of their community called, telling them that the girl was lying on the seventh-floor platform.

“A resident on the seventh floor heard a noise and noticed something had fallen. They went outside, discovered it was a girl, and called the property management company,” said Ai, a colleague of Shen who accompanied her and her husband during the search for their daughter.

After landing on the lower platform, the girl managed to walk a few steps away from where she fell, which is why her father did not see her from their home, Ai explained.

“She walked a few steps but had to lie down because she felt too sore,” Ai said. “When we found her, she was wearing her school uniform and there was a lot of blood around her mouth and ears. Her eyes were swollen with blood clots, but she was conscious.”

“We were terrified. I was distraught. The first thing my daughter said when she saw me was, ‘Mum, save me,’” Shen recounted.

Since all the hospitals in Tangshan refused to treat her under these circumstances, her parents quickly transported her to a hospital in Beijing, about 200km away.

At Beijing Children’s Hospital, a premier medical facility, the girl was diagnosed with fractures in her arms, brow ridge, and thoracic vertebra. Fortunately, her brain was undamaged, according to Shen.

She underwent several surgeries and was discharged from the hospital 10 days later. She is scheduled to return for a follow-up examination at the end of April.

“My daughter’s survival has led everyone to believe that she is protected by a Super God. It is truly a miracle!” she exclaimed.
