Azerbaijan announces steps taken to repair and restorate reservoirs in Karabakh, Eastern Zangazur

This year, at the expense of the funds allocated for the reconstruction and restoration of the liberated territories, the repair and restoration of the Sugovushan reservoir located in the Tartar district, the Khachinchay reservoir located in the Aghdam district, including the Tartarchay left bank canal, were completed, while the repair and restoration of the Kondalanchay 1, Kondalanchay 2 and Ashagi Kondalanchay water reservoirs are planned to be completed in the near future, Adviser to the chairman of the State Water Resources Agency, Asad Shirinov, said at the event on the outcomes of 2023, Report informs.

He noted that during the past period, the construction of the Zabukhchay reservoir located in the territory of the Lachin district continued:

"It is planned to start the construction of the main canal carrying water from the Gyz Galasi reservoir, the Hekarichay and Bargushadchay reservoirs and the canals feeding from them in the coming years. In addition to being a great success in solving the water supply problem in Azerbaijan, the mentioned projects are an important contribution to the socio-economic development of Karabakh and East Zangazur regions."
