Uzbekistan discusses development of Middle Corridor

Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, held discussions with representatives of major enterprises operating in the country regarding the development of the Transcaspian International Transport Route (TITR), also known as the Middle Corridor.

According to Report, the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade (MIIT) hosted a roundtable discussion on cargo transportation via transport corridors and enhancing export potential. The dialogue included Minister Laziz Kudratov, Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov, representatives of Uzbekiston Temir Yullari JSC and leaders of over 40 large enterprises working in the export, transport, and logistics sectors in Uzbekistan.

"The discussions focused on the development of transport corridors used for export deliveries, particularly the Transcaspian Corridor, and creating comprehensively comfortable conditions for export activities," the ministry stated.

Following the roundtable, tasks were outlined to implement the rational proposals put forward by enterprise leaders. To this end, the MIIT, in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport, will prepare a "Roadmap" specifying concrete implementation deadlines and responsible executors.

The Transcaspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, is an international transport route that runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea area, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and further on to Türkiye and European countries. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is part of this corridor.
