Delivery times for goods from China to Europe via the Middle Corridor could decrease from 18 to 14 days, Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloglu, told Milliyet.
Report quotes him as saying the delivery period will be reduced to 14 days after the commissioning of the Kars-Igdir-Aralik-Diluju railway line, which is part of the Zangazur Corridor.
“Via the Suez Canal, delivery takes more than 35 days, and by sea around the Cape of Good Hope – over 45 days. With the planned Development Route project, which includes both maritime and rail transport, this figure will be 25 days,” Uraloglu said.
The minister noted that the Zangazur Corridor project will also create additional opportunities for regional transport logistics.
“The Zangazur Corridor will strengthen regional peace and economic cooperation between Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Armenia. We are the only gateway for Armenia opening toward the West,” he added.
