Turkish consul general in Nakhchivan: AJet will serve as 'a bridge'

AJet will serve as a bridge between Istanbul and Nakhchivan, Consul General of Türkiye in Nakhchivan Asip Kaya said in an interview with journalists, as quoted by Report.

"Today, the first flight of AJet to Nakhchivan International Airport took place. I wish this significant event to be auspicious and successful. I would like to welcome AJet Sales Manager Macit Bayarbey to Nakhchivan. As you know, Turkish Airlines has been operating flights to Nakhchivan for many years. Starting today, AJet will continue this mission. Flights will be organized on the Istanbul-Nakhchivan-Ganja route twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays," Kaya said.

The consul general also noted that air travel is an important element that brings people and countries closer together:

"I hope that AJet will serve as a bridge between Istanbul and Nakhchivan at reasonable prices and bring our already close peoples even closer. Our main expectation is that the number of these flights will not be limited to twice a week, and that more frequent and direct flights will be implemented in the future. Hopefully, direct flights from Nakhchivan to Istanbul will also take place soon. I wish this new step to be beneficial for our Nakhchivan and our country. I would like to thank everyone who contributed."
