The railway station in Azerbaijan's Khankandi will serve from 800 to 1,000 passengers per day, and the bus station - from 1,000 to 1,200 passengers, Head of Public Relations Department of Communications of the Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Bakhtiyar Hajiyev told Report.

According to him, the Khankandi railway station and bus station complex will be built on the right bank of the Gargar River, on an area of 6.4 hectares:

"Work on the design of the complex has already begun. Two railway platforms and 12 bus stops will be built on the territory of the five-tier complex. The complex will include an embankment along the river, bridges, an underground passage, as well as parking lots, charging stations for electric vehicles, a bicycle path and a parking lot," he said.

Hajiyev noted that the Khankandi railway station and bus station will be located only 4 kilometers closer to the city center, which will provide improved access to public transport for city residents.

As part of the Aghdam-Khankandi railway line construction project, it is also planned to build Asgaran and Khojaly stations, the Khankandi railway station and other necessary infrastructure facilities.

The length of the Aghdam-Khankandi railway line, which is an extension of the Barda-Aghdam line, will be 28 kilometers. The design work for the Aghdam-Khankandi railway line has been completed. The project is planned for 2025-2026.
