Polish carrier LOT cancels Beirut and Tel Aviv flights following regional tensions

Poland's LOT Airlines has made the decision to cancel flights to the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and Tel Aviv, Israel, in the coming days, according to Report, which cites carrier's spokesperson, Krzysztof Moczulski.

Following a thorough analysis of flight safety in the region, LOT Polish Airlines has opted to cancel eight flights to and from Lebanon and Israel, Moczulski stated.

The affected flights include evening services from Warsaw to Beirut and Tel Aviv on August 2 and 3, as well as the corresponding return flights to the Polish capital on the nights of August 3 and 4.

The decision comes in the wake of heightened tensions in the region, particularly after the Israeli army reported striking targets in Beirut on July 30. The airstrike allegedly targeted and killed Fuad Shukr, a prominent figure in the Hezbollah movement who was said to be the right-hand man of the organization's leader, Hassan Nasrallah.
