At a meeting of the European Council, Poland will raise the issue of banning the movement of trucks carrying goods to Belarus and Russia, Report informs citing RIA Novosti that Spokesman for the Polish government Piotr Muller told Polsat TV channel.
“We are ready to cut off supplies of various kinds, but this is the exclusive competence of the EU. We will raise this issue at the European Council summit,” Muller said, answering a question about the possibility of a ban on the movement of heavy vehicles heading to Belarus and Russia.
At the same time, answering a question about the possibility of a unilateral ban on the part of Poland, Muller noted that there would be no point in this, since the trucks "would then go through Lithuania, Latvia". However, currently, all trucks leaving Poland eastward are "very carefully checked".
