Passenger transportation by air surges in Azerbaijan

In January-April 2025, 1,179,500 passengers were transported by air in Azerbaijan, representing a year-on-year increase of 9.6% or 103,700 passengers, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.

During this period, 99.9% of air transportation was carried out by state-owned vehicles, while 0.1% was carried out by private vehicles.

Over the course of four months, Azerbaijan’s cargo transportation by air grew by 2% or 2,600 tons YoY to 130,100 tons.

In 2025, the volume of goods transported by economic entities operating in Azerbaijan’s transport sector amounted to 76.1 million tons. Some 0.2% of the goods were transported by air.
