New Ro-Pax vessel to be built in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO) and Baku Shipbuilding Plant LLC signed an agreement on the construction of another Ro-Pax-type ferry vessel for the transportation of passengers, cars and railway cars.

Report informs with reference to ASCO that the document was inked by the Chairman of the Board of ASCO Rauf Valiyev and the Chairman of the Board of the plant Elshad Nuriyev.

At the signing ceremony, it was noted that the new ferry vessel is similar in type to the Azerbaijan and Zarifa Aliyeva ferry vessels. The new vessel will carry 100 passengers, 56 vats or 46 gondola cars, or 50 semi-trailers.

The ferry vessel will be 154.5 meters long and 17.7 meters wide. The permanent crew will consist of 30 people.
