"Turkiye is in favor of simplifying transit transportation procedures and reducing transportation fees, which will contribute to the development of trade and GDP growth of Turkic states," the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoglu, said at the tripartite meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Transport of Turkiye , Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in Tashkent, Report informs.
Karaismailoglu emphasized that transport infrastructure plays a crucial role in successful economic cooperation between states: "Therefore, Turkiye implements large-scale projects that meet the interests of both itself and the region as a whole."
Adil Karaismailoglu added that the Turkish side pays special attention to the development of the Middle Corridor, which forms a solid logistic base for cargo transportation between Europe and Asia.
He stated that Ankara is ready to further develop this route, which contributes to the improvement of the well-being of the people of all the countries it passes through.
The Turkish minister said that the Middle Corridor is a profitable alternative to other routes.
