Iran launches construction of new water pipeline from Araz River

Iran has launched a project to bring water from the Araz River to cities and industrial regions in the northwest of the country.
Report informs citing ILNA agency that the implementation of the project began with the construction of a pipeline from the village of Zal, located 20 km from the border of Iran with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the project, by 2026 it is planned to provide water to 1.75 million people living in Tabriz, the capital of the province of East Azerbaijan and the sixth largest city in Iran, as well as in the cities and villages located around it.
