IATA: Azerbaijan's aviation market outpaces global growth rates

The Azerbaijani aviation market is growing faster than the global average, Maja Marciniak, senior economist at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), said at the IATA Aviation Energy Forum in Baku, according to Report.

"The Azerbaijani aviation market has not only outpaced the global average growth rate, but also outpaced the dynamics observed in Eastern European countries over the past decade. An additional 40% growth is projected over the next ten years, primarily due to an increase in the number of passengers flying out of the country. This reflects the high activity in the sector: more and more people are traveling through Azerbaijan, arriving in the country and using the services of local air carriers. A significant part of this growth has a direct positive impact on the financial performance of the industry," Marciniak noted.
