Height of Triumphal Arch being built in Khankandi to be 44 meters in honor of Great Patriotic War

In the Victory Park in Azerbaijan's Khankandi, the height of the Triumphal Arch will be 44 meters, which corresponds to the number of days of the Great Patriotic War, said the head of the public relations department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankandi, Aghdara and Khojaly districts Afat Telmangizi, Report informs.
According to her, a symbolic staircase of 44 steps will be provided in the center of the park, which will lead from the central square of the park to the Triumphal Arch. On each of these steps, data on liberated settlements will be posted, corresponding to each day of the war.
In addition, an observation deck will be built on the top of the arch, which will offer a view of the city.
For the convenience of the elderly, children and people with disabilities, elevators will be installed on the arch, which will provide convenient access to the observation deck.
The construction of Victory Park began in February of this year, when President Ilham Aliyev laid its foundation. Work on the creation of the park is actively ongoing.
The total area of the park will be 8.3 hectares.
Several buildings built in violation of building codes during the occupation, as well as those used for other purposes, were demolished on its territory. In the center of the park, the construction of the Triumphal Arch as a symbol of our Victory continues.
According to the project, extensive green areas will be created in the park. Existing trees will be preserved, and more than 300 trees and more than 9,000 ornamental shrubs will be planted.
