Georgia discusses use of BTK with Kazakhstan

General Director of Georgian Railways David Peradze met with Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Railways Nurlan Sauranbayev, Report informs.

The parties discussed the attraction of additional cargo to the Middle Corridor, the development of competitive tariffs, the development of the corridor and new challenges in the light of existing realities.

At the meeting, they agreed to make optimal decisions to develop transit and transport links and improve existing routes. It was noted that the corridor is already working on a transparent tariff policy, cargo declaration and consolidation of transit cargo.

The parties also discussed the use of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway corridor, which in turn will allow multimodal cargo transportation in the Middle Corridor.
