According to Kamran Jalili, the terminal will handle 3 million tons of cargo annually and 600 tons per hour.
“Here, it will be possible to transship an additional 6,000 tons of bulk cargo per hour,” he noted.
According to Jalili, it is planned to import sulfur, carbamide, ammonium nitrate fertilizers from the countries of Central Asia, including Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, to the port.
On July 25, 2022, an agreement was reached between the Baku International Sea Trade Port and the Turkish group of companies Albayrak on the construction of a fertilizer terminal. Under the agreement, Albayrak will own a 49% stake in the terminal.
