“Only 3-4% of the world's water resources can be used as drinking water. Azerbaijan is also among the countries suffering from water shortage,” Muhammad Nasar Hayat, the representative of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Azerbaijan, told a joint event to mark the launch of ADA University School of Agricultural and Food Sciences and World Food Day held in Baku, Report informs.
“More than 70% of water resources in Azerbaijan are used for agricultural purposes. I hope that the new school will contribute to the more efficient use of water and the development of agriculture,” he said.
