Declaration processing time on TITR reduced from 8 hours to 30 minutes

The time required to process declarations on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) has been reduced from 8 hours to 30 minutes, Talgat Aldybergenov, Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ), said, reporting to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the company’s performance in the first half of 2025.

According to Report, Aldybergenov noted that in the first half of 2025, operational freight turnover increased by 8.6%. The volume of transit transportation (through Kazakhstan) reached 14.6 million tons.

According to him, work continues on expanding the terminal network. “Special attention is paid to digitalization. In partnership with global innovation leaders, efforts are being made to improve the quality and ensure the safety of railway operations. The time required to process declarations on the TITR has been reduced from 8 hours to 30 minutes,” the statement said.

Tokayev, for his part, emphasized the importance of further modernization of transport infrastructure, highlighting the key role of KTZ in developing Kazakhstan’s transit potential and economy.

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route is an international transport corridor passing through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and further into Türkiye and European countries.

In 2024, cargo transportation via the TITR increased by 62%, reaching 4.5 million tons. In 2025, further growth is expected to 5.2 million tons, of which 4.2 million tons will move along the route’s member states. This volume will include 2.5 million tons of dry cargo (equivalent to 96,000 TEU) and 1.7 million tons of oil.

By 2027, the route’s capacity may reach 10 million tons per year.
