Baku and Tashkent agree on joint implementation of new projects and development of TITR

The next, third inter-regional Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan forum will be held in 2025 in Uzbekistan, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in a joint press statement with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, according to Report.

"Yesterday, a business forum was held productively, dozens of contracts and agreements were signed. Today we will hold a separate meeting with representatives of our business. This is also for the first time. Together we will launch important projects: construction of a hotel, textile clusters, a clothing factory, building materials, and others," Mirziyoyev said.

He noted that a joint Azerbaijani-Uzbek investment company with a capital of 500 million dollars is successfully operating to promote such projects.

"We agreed to work out the issue of participation in promising projects in third countries. We will also continue joint efforts to strengthen transport interconnectedness, including through the development of the Trans-Caspian corridor (TITR)," he added.

The president of Uzbekistan also noted that the parties intend to maximize the potential of interregional ties.

"In May, a forum of regions was successfully held in the city of Guba. We decided to adopt a roadmap for interregional cooperation, hold the next forum next year in the city of Kagan, create a tourist complex in the capitals," Mirziyoyev said.
