Azerbaijan's international air cargo volumes skyrocket

Azerbaijan's air freight industry has witnessed a dramatic increase in international cargo volumes during the first seven months of 2023.
According to Report, from January to July, a staggering 71,321 tons of goods, valued at $2.224 billion, were transported via air cargo, representing a 2.2-fold increase in volume and a 34.9% rise in value compared to the same period last year.
The State Customs Committee reports that during the seven-month period, air cargo imports reached 7,411 tons, a 17.4% increase, with a total value of $2.045 billion, a staggering 2.4-fold increase. Meanwhile, exports via air freight amounted to 63,910 tons, a 37.3% growth, although the value slightly decreased by 0.5% to $179.4 million.
