Azerbaijan may join transit system of European Union

Azerbaijan is working to join the transit system within the framework of the European Union (EU), Jafar Guluzada, Head of the Customs Regulation Department of the State Customs Committee's Customs Administration General Department, said at the CEO MeetUp Logistics & Trade event organized by the Caspian Energy Club and the Association of Azerbaijan Transport Forwarding Companies Public Union, Report informs.

"A computerized transit system is being implemented within the framework of the EU. Azerbaijan has expressed its position to join this convention. Our country has received informal observer status in Oslo, the capital of Norway. After the work on the legislation is completed, the monitoring group will carry out an assessment. Work on its infrastructure is being carried out. Moreover, the web transit project has been implemented," he said.
