Starting in 2026, Azerbaijan aims to produce 200-250 electric buses annually, Report informs.
According to the State Program for 2025-2030 on improving transport infrastructure in Baku and its surroundings, approved by President Ilham Aliyev's decree, modernizing the bus fleet is a key priority to enhance public transport service quality and ensure passenger safety.
Last year, 160 modern electric buses were imported to Azerbaijan, marking a significant step towards the goal of replacing all public transport vehicles in Baku with electric alternatives by 2030. Additionally, the production of spare parts for these buses domestically is considered a priority starting this year.
