AZAL reduces passenger traffic to Georgia by over 7 times

In 2020, CJSC Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) transported 19,096 people to Georgia, the Georgian bureau of Report informs referring to the Georgian Civil Aviation Administration.
According to the document, passenger transportation was implemented before the coronavirus pandemic - in the first quarter of last year.
In annual comparison, the number of passengers decreased by 117,503 people or 7.1 times.
In the reporting year, foreign airlines carried 692,260 passengers to Georgia, a drop of 93 percent from 2019.
Last year, the largest carriers to the neighboring country among foreign airlines were the Hungarian low-cost Wizz Air (172,012 people) and the Turkish Airlines (86,562 people).
