Astana, Moscow, Beijing prepare to launch unified digital platform on China-Kazakhstan-Russia Route

The capitals of Kazakhstan, Russia, and China are gearing up to launch a Unified Digital Platform (UDP) along the historic China-Kazakhstan-Russia route. This digital initiative, reminiscent of the ancient Silk Road's transformative impact, is scheduled to be formalized in early July 2024.

According to Report, which cites a statement from Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ), the national railway company of Kazakhstan, the agreement to establish the UDP will be signed during the upcoming Kazakh-Chinese Business Council. This platform is poised to facilitate logistics, customs clearance processes, assist the development of the e-commerce, reduce trade barriers, increase transparency and effectiveness of the supply chain.

This ambitious project is the brainchild of CRK Terminal LLC, a joint venture between KTZ Express (Kazakhstan), Slavtrans-Service JSC (Russia), and Xi'an Free Trade Port (China).

In a move that could further amplify the platform's impact, CRK Terminal LLC plans to involve major e-commerce players, including giants like Alibaba and Pinduoduo.
