Production of construction materials soars in Azerbaijan

In January-November 2021, the total monetary value of construction materials production in Azerbaijan amounted to 783.4 million manats ($460.8 million), an increase of 83.7% compared to the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

In the first 11 months of 2021, Azerbaijan produced almost 3.2 million tons of cement, 4.3% more than in January-November last year.

In addition, Azerbaijan produced 175,700 tons of asphalt in the reporting period, 13.9% less than in 11 months last year.

In the first 11 months of this year, the production of building bricks increased by 34.2% to 617,700 cubic meters.

Production of construction gypsum increased by 43.8% to 29,200 tons. In January-November, the output of construction lime increased by 4.8% to 32,500 tons.

In January-November 2021, the production of building blocks and bricks from cement, artificial stone or concrete amounted to 76,600 tons, an increase of 60.3% compared to January-November last year. The production of prefabricated concrete structures also increased 2.1 times to 72,500 cubic meters.

In the first 11 months of 2021, the country's production of processed marble, travertine, alabaster and goods made from them increased by 55.8% to 35.2 million tons.

During this period, the production of ready-mix concrete in the country increased by 33.4% and amounted to almost 2.38 million tons.
