Temiz Shahar JSC, Baku's leading waste management company, has set its sights on reducing the amount of household waste sent to landfills in the capital city.

According to Report, the company plans to achieve this goal by constructing new waste recycling plants in the eastern and western parts of Baku.

During the opening of the "Green" zone at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku, Sabit Zeyniyev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Temiz Sheher JSC, emphasized the importance of establishing efficient logistics in the waste management system.

He also highlighted the success of a pilot project implemented in the Gala village of Baku's Khazar district.

"Under the project, waste is sorted at the source and placed in recycling containers. We then deliver the sorted waste to a sorting facility, where recyclable materials are separated and sent to a waste management plant for electricity generation," he explained.
