As a result of additional research, exploration, and field optimization work carried out by AzerGold in recent years, the marketable gold reserves of the Chovdar field on the oxide stage have been increased from 179,000 ounces to 212,000 ounces.
According to Report, the chairman of the board of the joint-stock company, Zakir Ibrahimov, told a press conference on the results of 2021 and the tasks ahead, that the exploitation of the Chovdar field on the oxide stage was completed in April 2021.
"At the same time, 28,000 ounces of production is being carried out in the reporting year as a result of the exploitation of oxide ores on the sulfide stage of the Chovdar field."
He recalled that during the five years of its operation, the company's total production amounts to 255,600 ounces of gold and 484,500 ounces of silver.
An Integrated Processing Area is being set up on the basis of Chovdar Ore Processing Area for centralized processing of ores extracted from several deposits (Agyoxush 2, Agyoxush 3, Marah, Tulallar, and Narchala gold deposits), which are considered to be inefficient. The establishment of the area has paved the way for the gradual operation of these fields without increasing the efficiency of the field without the construction of a new processing plant and relevant infrastructure.
In keeping with the approved plan, six more gold deposits, including one polymetallic and four copper deposits, are planned to be put into operation in 2021-2027, including the operation of the Chovdar gold deposit on the sulfide stage.
