Industrial production increases by 6% in Azerbaijan

In January-August 2023, industrial enterprises and private entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan produced industrial goods worth 45.1 billion manats ($26.53 billion) - 0.7% less year-on-year, Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.

Over the past year, production in the oil and gas sector decreased by 1.4%, while in the non-oil and gas sector, it increased by 6%.

According to the committee, 68.6% of industrial production was done in the mining sector, 26.2% - in the processing sector, 4.4% - in the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, 0.8% - in the water supply sector, waste treatment and recycling.

In the mining sector, commercial oil production decreased by 7.6%, while commercial gas production increased by 5.3%.

In the sector of production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam, production volumes increased by 1.9%, and in the sector of water supply, waste treatment and recycling - by 15.6%.
