As part of preparations for production at the Agyokhush field, AzerGold CJSC has also carried out administrative territory, developing temporary structures and landscaping works on the Marah field, the company said in response to an inquiry from Report.
It is planned to start work on the Marah field in the middle of this year. The ore to be extracted will be processed using the Chovdar Integrated Regional Processing Area's material and technical resources. Thus, the Marah goldfield, which is relatively small in size and carries a separate risk of economic inefficiency, will be exploited without additional capital investment and the construction of a new processing plant and relevant infrastructure. As a result, the economic efficiency of the field will be ensured.
The drilling was carried out in 2019-2020 to assess the existing reserves and prospective resources in Marah. Turkish office of the internationally renowned Australian laboratory company ALS Global analyzed the samples taken. An international consulting company has assessed subsoil resources.
Along with geological works, the company carried out complex land and research works on the field. The optimal metallurgical technological processing scheme for the process of ores was determined. Besides, it implemented environmental monitoring and obtained relevant reports. A conceptual plan has been developed for the open pit operation of the area.
Geologists of AzerGold discovered the Marah gold deposit in 2018 on the border of the Goygol and Dashkesan regions. The field is located north-east of the Chovdar field.
