Azerbaijan's methanol production shrinks by 60%

From January through June, Azerbaijan produced 98,400 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol), Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
The methanol production decreased by 59.6% compared to the previous year.
As of July 1, 2021, methanol stocks amounted to 34,700 tons.
Methanol production is carried out at a State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plant in the Garadagh district, southwest of Baku.
The methanol plant was commissioned in 2013. The plant is capable of producing 650,000-700,000 tons of methanol per year.
