Azerbaijan's income from polyethylene exports grows by 56%

In September 2022, Azerbaijan earned $9.2 million from the exports of preformed polyethylene with a specific gravity of less than 0.94, $3.3 million or 55.9% more than in September 2021, Report informs, citing the Export Review of the country's Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms.

During January-September 2022, Azerbaijan exported $70.6 million worth of preformed polyethylene with a specific gravity of less than 0.94, which is $1.3 million or 1.8% less compared to the first nine months of 2021.

At the same time, during January-September 2022, Azerbaijan exported $42.1 million worth of preform polyethylene with a specific gravity of more than 0.94, which is $8.3 million or 16.5% less compared to the 9-month indicators of 2021.

In January-September 2022, the total export of Azerbaijan amounted to $29.5 billion, and the export of the non-oil sector reached $2.1 billion.

Polypropylene is produced at the Polypropylene Plant of SOCAR Polymer LLC, with an annual production capacity of 184,000 tons.
