Airbus releases last giant airliner A380

Airbus last produced the giant A380 and shipped it to Hamburg from the Toulouse plant for final preparations before handing it over to Emirates.

Report informs, citing avianews.com, that the manufacturer has decided to close the program in 2019 due to the lack of new orders for the world's largest - two all-decker passenger aircraft.

Due to the size of the A380, it allowed airlines to install luxury first-class halls with private cabins for passengers. But with four engines, the giant liners lost to two-engine aircraft in terms of efficiency.

As a result, there has been no new order for the A380 in recent years, and the airline had begun removing such aircraft from its "fleet" before the coronavirus pandemic began.

Emirates is currently the world's largest A380 operator. The airline bought a little less than half of all the giant liners produced.
