Turkish envoy: Azerbaijan is ideal for sports training camps

The Vice President of Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee (NOC) Chingiz Huseynzade met with the Ambassador of Turkiye to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci, Report informs, citing the NOC press service.

Cahit Bagci expressed his gratitude for the active participation of Azerbaijani athletes in the Konya-2021 Islamic Solidarity Games.

"Your success at the Konya-2021 Islamic Solidarity Games makes us happy as a brother country," said the ambassador, stressing that he highly appreciates the professionalism of Azerbaijani athletes.

The ambassador noted that Turkiye is interested in sending teams of athletes to training sessions in Azerbaijan.

"Azerbaijan is an ideal place for training camps. The infrastructure for all sports is at a high level, and the climate is very nice," he added.

Chingiz Huseynzade pointed out that after the Konya-2021 Islamic Solidarity Games organized by Turkiye, the Islamic Solidarity Movement entered a new stage.

"In Konya, we exchanged ideas with the Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkiye, Mehmet Kasapoglu, about the organization of the Islamic Solidarity Games. We know the challenges of organizing such an event because we have organized it ourselves. I think that Turkiye has coped with this task."

Chingiz Huseynzade also mentioned the close cooperation with the Turkish National Olympic Committee. He said that the collaboration between the National Olympic Committees has already reached the level of friendship in 30 years.

He also noted that negotiations are still being held about which country will host the next Islamic Solidarity Games, and a final decision has not yet been made.
