Tehran Mammadov wins world student weightlifting title

Azerbaijani weightlifter Tehran Mammadov has won the World Student Championship in Doha, Qatar.

The Azerbaijan Weightlifting Federation told Report that Mammadov, competing in the 65 kg weight category, won a silver medal in the snatch with a lift of 130 kg.

He then lifted 159 kg in the clean and jerk to take first place in that discipline.

Mammadov finished with a total of 289 kg, securing the world student championship title.

He also became the first Azerbaijani weightlifter to win the World Student Championship.
