ShamkirChess tournament in memory of Vugar Hashimov postponed

Traditional ShamkirChess tournament in memory of famous Azerbaijani grandmaster Vugar Hashimov has been put off due to coronavirus, Vice President of the Azerbaijan Chess Federation Mahir Mammadov told Report.
The tournament was slated for May.
"I cannot specify the date now. We hope to defeat the virus as soon as possible, and only after that, we will start implementing the planned works."
ShamkirChess has been held since 2014.
Current world champion Magnus Carlsen claimed the tournament crown four times (in 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019), and Azerbaijan's Shahriyar Mammadyarov became the winner twice (in 2016 and 2017).
Azerbaijani grandmaster Vugar Hashimov died of severe illness on January 11, 2014.
