Shahin Movsumov: We want to invite head coach from S.Korea and Turkiye

“We are considering inviting a foreign head coach in the future,” President of the Azerbaijan Archery Federation Shahin Movsumov said at a press conference, Report informs.

He noted that certain tasks will be set before the specialist: “One of the most important goals is to obtain a license for the Olympics. We don’t want short-term success, therefore we set long-term goals. Over the past 10 years, the results have been shown not by legionnaires, but by our youth.”

He added that a well-known athlete will become the new head coach: “We want to innovate, see our systemic mistakes. As you know, this sport is mainly developed in South Korea. We want to invite a specialist either from this country or from Turkiye.”

Movsumov noted that archery is an expensive sport: “When we first came to the Federation, we had no place for training and equipment. The federation had only a name. In a short time, we formed a national team. open clubs. We need indoor sports complexes, we need to open clubs in the districts. All plans are linked to the Olympic license.”
