Russian taekwondo medalist disqualified for doping violation

Yulia Volkova, a Russian taekwondo athlete who recently won a medal in Baku, has been disqualified due to a doping violation, Report informs via TASS.
Volkova has received a two-year ban from competitions, with the suspension set to end on October 31, 2026.
The International Testing Agency (ITA) indicated that the violation occurred in 2014. Volkova, who was 45 years old and formerly represented the Ukrainian national team until 2014, earned an individual bronze medal at the European Championship in St. Petersburg and a team bronze medal in Baku.
Additionally, she clinched a silver medal at the Russian Championship in 2019.
