The competition is going to be held in Alexandria, Egypt, on October 1-8.

The International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) announced on January 17 that this year's world championship would be held in Baku. The competition, including the bench press, was to be held among young athletes, adults, and veterans. On October 1, about 100 of the best male and female athletes from 10 countries were supposed to come to Baku and settle in the Hyatt Regency Hotel, on October 2-3, eyesight classification was to be held, and on October 4-6, the competition was to take place. Also, during this period, it was planned to organize a seminar for IBSA powerlifting referees in Baku.
