Islamic Games: Azerbaijan so far ranks 4th with 43 medals

After the 9th day of the 5th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya, Turkiye, Azerbaijan's medal count has reached 43, Report informs.

Thirteen of the medals are gold, 15 are silver, and 15 are bronze.

With this result, Azerbaijan rose to 4th place in the overall ranking of the participating countries. In the first three positions are Turkiye with 169 medals (60 gold, 59 silver, 50 bronze), Iran with 73 medals (27 gold, 23 silver, 23 bronze) and Uzbekistan with 63 medals (20 gold, 17 silver, 26 bronze).

So far, 40 out of 56 countries have won at least one medal.

The Azerbaijani national team achieved medals in 6 categories - wrestling (8 gold, 8 silver, 7 bronze), rhythmic gymnastics (2 gold), taekwondo (1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze), gymnastics (1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze), athletics (1 gold, 2 silver), aerobics (1 silver), weightlifting (3 bronze) and para-archery (2 bronze).
