The visit of the Iranian national freestyle wrestling team to the United States for a friendly match has been canceled, the president of the Iranian Wrestling Federation, Alireza Dabir, said in a letter to the US Wrestling Federation, Report informs.
Dabir noted that the visit was canceled since two wrestlers, a coach, a chief, a referee of Iran's national team, and himself have not yet been issued a visa by the US. He protested against the rude and disrespectful behavior of some employees of the US Consulate in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, interrogating members of the Iranian national team for up to 5 hours.
In return, the Iranian Wrestling Federation invited the US to a friendly match in Tehran.
The friendly match was scheduled for February 12 in Arlington, Texas.
