President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach spoke about the need for an age limit at the Games, Report informs, citing foreign media.
"There are issues that need to be addressed, and this concerns the problem of minors in adult competitions. Our executive committee began to think about it. It requires careful discussion and consultation," the head of the IOC said.
According to Bach, representatives of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), as well as international and national sports federations, should be involved in the discussion of the issue: "It needs consultation on two fronts: The one is with regard to WADA, to see whether there is the need to adapt the rules. The other stakeholder is the international federations, whether the establishment of minimum age for participation is an appropriate measure."
