F1 chief executive: "Baku is the most famous place of competition"

Baku. 5 February. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan Grand Prix has a special place in the Formula 1 calendar, Chase Carey, Formula One’s chief executive, said at the signing ceremony of the new agreement with the Baku City Circuit, which is extended until 2023, Report informs. 

According to him, Azerbaijan Grand Prix has a special place: ‘We conducted a research for the 2018. Baku is the most famous place. Fans especially emphasize it. We see the year 2019 marvelous. There are new pilots, other innovations. We shouldn’t forget past while stepping forward. Formula 1 is a competition on speed. Strong competition should be ensured. We are pleased with partnership with Azerbaijan and highly appreciate it’.

From the Azerbaijani side, the new document was signed by Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov.
