Cuban president shares post about Azerbaijani boxer

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez has commented on the interview given by Azerbaijani boxer Alfonso Dominguez after his first victory at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

According to Report, the president shared a post about this on X.

The president noted that the statement of Alfonso, who won Cuban boxer Julio Cesar La Cruz, was honest, dignified and impressive:

“It is admirable that he respects the motherland that raised him. Cuba is happy with his victory, although he represents fraternal Azerbaijan."

Notably, Dominguez defeated the two-time Olympic champion with a score of 3:2 (29:28, 28:29, 29:28, 27:30, 29:28).
