Azerbaijani weightlifter secures gold, silver at European championship

Azerbaijani athlete Latif Aliyev claimed one gold and one silver medal at the European Weightlifting Championship for under-15s, held in Madrid, Spain, Report informs.

Competing in the 71 kg weight category, Aliyev won gold in the snatch event with a lift of 108 kg.

He went on to lift 129 kg in the clean and jerk, bringing his combined total to 237 kg — a result that earned him the silver medal overall in the championship.
