Azerbaijani referee to officiate wrestling matches at Paris 2024 Olympics

Azerbaijani wrestling referee Asif Shiraliyev has been appointed to the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, Report informs, referring to Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation.

This appointment marks the next representation of Azerbaijan at the Olympics through officiating roles.

Asif Shiraliyev, an I-S category referee, made his Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games. At 43 years old, he is set to oversee wrestling matches at the forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympics. His performance in previous competitions has been positively assessed by the World Wrestling Union (UWW), which has entrusted him with this significant responsibility.

A total of 39 referees have been selected to ensure fair play and adherence to rules at the Paris 2024 Olympic wrestling events.
