Azerbaijani judoka defeats Armenian by ippon at World Championship

Young Azerbaijani judoka Kamran Suleymanov upset his Armenian opponent at the World Championship held in Almaty, Kazakhstan,

Report informs that Suleymanov defeated Stepe Darbinyan in the 1/8 finals in the weight category of 60 kg. Azerbaijani athlete received head trauma at the main time of the fight, when the winner was not determined. Suleymanov continued struggle with his head bandaged. In the fight for the "golden point" he defeated Darbinyan by ippon and reached the 1/4 finals.

Turan Bayramov, the winner of the  Youth Summer European Olympic festival held in Baku, also achieved the same result in the same weight category. Both Bayramov and Suleymanov will face Kazakhstan judokas in the 1/4 finals - Nursultan Zayzagaliyev and Marlen Adilla respectively.
