Azerbaijan plans to host world ski mountaineering championship

The Plenary Assembly of the International Ski Mountaineering Federation held in Baku is of great significance for Azerbaijan, according to Gunel Badalova, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation.

According to Report, Badalova told journalists that the Azerbaijan Winter Sports Federation was accepted into the International Ski Mountaineering Federation two years ago. Since then, the country has been taking significant strides in developing winter sports.

Azerbaijan will host the Ski Mountaineering World Cup in Shahdagh this coming January, Badalova announced. "This will be the first time our country hosts this prestigious event," she said adding that they also plan to host the World Championship.
